Whywasteme (initiative owned by UMANI PROJECT non-profit company registered in Athens, GR herewith mentioned as “Whywasteme”) is committed to full transparency on how it collects and uses your data and to meeting its data protection obligations. The following information states what data we collect and what we do with it when it comes to using Whywasteme’s website and also our mobile app, the “lightblue app” (mentioned below as “app”).
What types of data we collect

Person and contact information – Name, Year of birth, Gender, E-mail address, Cell phone number, Postcode
Information about single use empty packages you recycle through the app
Historical information – your collected points, packages recycled and rewards claimed/ donations made.
Information about how users interact with Whywasteme in order for us to continuously improve your experience –including page response time, download error, how you reached and abandon the service, etc
Device information – such as IP address, language settings, browser settings, time zone, operating system, platform, and screen resolution when using the app. Also, when using the website, information on preferences, the frequency of your visits, their duration, etc., is automatically collected through cookies .
Geographical information – your geographical location when you provide the authorization which is necessary for using the app
Purposes for which we process your data
We process your data for the following purposes:
Delivering a good user experience to our app users.
To verify your personal and contact information.
To send information to you in electronic format (when you have already provided us with your consent).
For internal troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, and statistical purposes.
To ensure that content is presented effectively to you and your device.
