CONNECTING THE SEPERATION OF COLLECTION WITH CLEANER SEAS
With Whywasteme’s new mobile application, every time you separately recycle a package, you earn points that you can give to organizations involved in cleaning seabeds and coasts. Download the app, find the nearest partner recycling point on the map and join the new digital community for a cleaner marine environment. The first available recycling points on the application map are in Attica (Vouliagmeni & Varkiza) and Cyclades (Tinos) but the network is constantly growing.
Seaside businesses and Municipalities throughout Greece can contact us to be included in the application’s digital map.
The new whywasteme mobile app, works very simple. First, scan the barcode on the licensed packaging you have – plastic bottles or aluminum cans (other packaging will be included soon). Then, find points on the app map to recycle separately. For each package, you get points that you can donate to greek organizations that do cleanups of oceans and coasts. Scan, recycle and do good!

We are developing a new solution for the separate collection of post-consumer single use plastic packaging waste, tailored to locations with a strong seasonal increase in visitors and tourists. Whywasteme’s purpose is to enable and prompt businesses, tourists & locals on islands and coastlines to separately collect & recycle single use packaging waste. By providing the right tools we want to empower both HORECA businesses and individual visitors to contribute to a more sustainable tourism industry in the Mediterranean.
